Finances

We believe that everyone deserves access to quality, affirming mental health care, regardless of their financial situation. Mental health support is a fundamental right, not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it. Because of this, we take multiple insurances, both private and public, and offer self-pay options that include a limited number of reduced fee and pro bono spots for our trans, disabled, or BIPOC clients who are unemployed or underemployed.

Here’s why we are committed to offering reduced fees:

Breaking Down Barriers: high costs can be a significant barrier to seeking therapy. By reducing fees, we make it possible for more individuals to access the care they need.

Equity and Inclusion: we strive to create an equitable environment where all community members, especially those from historically marginalized backgrounds, can receive support without financial stress.

Community Well-Being: when more people have access to mental health services, the entire community benefits. Reduced fees help create a healthier, more resilient society.

Commitment to Social Justice: as part of our dedication to social justice, we aim to dismantle financial barriers and ensure that therapy is accessible to all, particularly underserved and vulnerable populations.

Good Faith Estimate

The law requires healthcare providers to give clients who do not have insurance, or choose not to use it, an estimate of expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy. You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate (GFE)” of expected charges for non-emergency psychotherapy services. Before starting services you can request that your therapist provide you with a GFE orally and in writing.  If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than what was estimated, you can dispute the charges. Remember to keep a copy of your GFE for your records. You can learn more about your rights regarding a GFE here: No Surprises Act.
